JLS Summer Readers read almost 7800 books. That is 1000 more than last year. The 8th grade was the overall winner for most books read. This is their third year as winners!!! What an amazing class of readers! Congratulations to 6th, 7th and 8th grade for all the reading for pleasure they did. You all set a school record. What a way to take a mini-vacation.

Students, remember to turn in your summer reading logs to your english teacher by Tuesday, September 6. If you read 4 books or more and write a paragraph about one book, you will receive an invitation to the summer reading party. The 6th grade party will be on Tuesday, September 20 at 3pm and the 7th and 8th grade party will be on Thursday, September 22 at 3pm. Stay tuned for more details.
